The Village has shared the concerns of residents, who may need an insurance extension for rebuilding their homes, with the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
This week the Insurance Bureau of Canada confirmed that Lytton residents, who want to rebuild and have already received an extension related to their residential insurance policy, can request another extension if more time is needed for rebuilding.
How to request another insurance extension
Submit your request to your insurer in writing, no earlier than two months in advance of your current extension expiry date.
Insurers will work with you based on your specific circumstances and review requests on a case-by-case basis.
