Fire training materials donated

January 16, 2023

On January 11, Lytton Fire Department received a general donation from the New Westminster Fire Department. Consultant Dave Mitchel, lead on the Lytton Fire Services Review, helped deliver 12 cases of training material, valued near $10,000.

The Department is facing significant challenges in terms of recovery from the catastrophic June 2021 fire in which they lost their fire hall, one fire truck, all of their training and other records and most of their personal protective equipment. Despite all this, the Department has continued to operate utilizing borrowed space in the BC Wildfire Service depot in Lytton and continuing to train when they are able.
