Emergency Information

An Evacuation Order remains in place for The Village of Lytton, with the exception of the below-mentioned areas.

The areas now downgraded to ALL CLEAR status are:

  • Kumsheen Secondary School – 365 Trans Canada Hwy
  • Pines Motel – 150 Trans Canada Hwy
  • Ponderosa Heights
  • Loring Way
  • Kent Road

For properties remaining on evacuation order, residents are reminded to comply with the order and should not trespass in the area. The evacuation order is in place to keep residents safe.

Extension Request for State of Local Emergency

The Village of Lytton’s request to extend the duration of the declaration of a state of local emergency has been approved. The state of local emergency is now set to expire April 4, 2022 at midnight. Lytton SOLE Extension request March 28 to April 4 2022

Rescinded: Evacuation Alert – Electoral Area “I”, “M”, and “N” (November 27, 2021):

Due to the danger to life, health, and property the Thompson-Nicola Region
has issued an evacuation alert for the following areas:
• Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country);
• Electoral Area “M” (Beautiful Nicola Valley – North); and
• Electoral Area “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley – South)

This evacuation alert has been issued so that residents in low-laying areas adjacent to vulnerable rivers, streams, and creeks can prepare to evacuate their premises or property should it be necessary.  >> READ MORE
