Rebuilding in Lytton

Recovery

On June 30, 2021, a wildfire destroyed approximately over 100 properties within the Village of Lytton. More than 1,000 residents evacuated from the area.

Archaeology

The province is supporting the recovery Lytton while protecting sensitive archaeological resources and promoting compliance with the Heritage Conservation Act.

Land Use

The Zoning and Building Bylaws state the requirements that must be met to be able to build a home or other building or structure. The first step is to determine which zone your property is in.

Building Permits

A building permit is required before the start of any construction or renovation within the Village.

Rebuilding our community

On June 30, 2021, the beautiful Village of Lytton was destroyed by a fire that swept through the town with such speed and fury, most residents didn’t have time to grab much, if anything. Nearly the entire village was destroyed. Residents were forced to flee in separate directions and are displaced across the southern part of the province with little or nothing of their own.
